Mechanic Resurrection Review: 3 Ups & 7 Downs

Yes, the action is extremely rough around the edges, but it does offer intermittent entertainment value, largely by virtue of how absolutely absurd it is.
If the original Mechanic's action was a little more grounded, here it's gleefully silly for the most part, from an opening sequence in which Bishop leaps on top of a hang glider to escape his attackers, to the infamous glass-bottomed boat assassination set-piece.
Many complimented the first movie for feeling more like an adaptation of the Hitman video games than the official, licensed movie, and that also rings true here (especially now that we have a second Hitman movie that also failed).
The three central assassination sequences do evoke the suspenseful mood of the Hitman games, and ensure that as bad as so much of the movie is, the action does still serve up some entertainment value.
