Men In Black International Review: 2 Ups & 7 Downs
1. Tessa Thompson's Solid Performance
Though Chris Hemsworth's performance falls disappointingly short of the mark, Tessa Thompson deserves some credit for allowing some of her natural charisma to shine through the leaden script.
This is hardly a stellar turn from the actress all things considered, but she makes for a fine enough audience entry-point to this world, and her no-nonsense attitude proves easy to warm to.
More to the point, she's not simply playing a suited-up Valkyrie: Molly actually feels like a distinct character in her own right, even if the film as a whole could've done so much more with the actress.
Outside of Pawny, she's the only other aspect of the film that feels even remotely successful.
