Michael Keaton: 5 Awesome Performances And 5 That Sucked

2. Blaine Sternin - Frasier (2002)

One of Keaton's lesser-known but oh-so-delicious comedic turns came in a one-episode appearance in Frasier, the TV show about a pretentious radio psychiatrist and his wacky extended family that intellectuals love for the classical music puns, everyone else likes for the sitcom antics, and your dad will constantly remind you is a spin-off from Cheers. Frasier's writers have always known how to use their guest stars, as the galaxy of big name actors who have popped in as phone-in callers to the titular star's show and a late season appearance by Patrick Stewart will attest to. Keaton, though, is on another level. Few are worthy of inspiring Kelsey Grammar's righteous anger, but Keaton as long-time con artist Blaine Sternin is, tracking Frasier down to Seattle €“ after having tricked him into giving him money on numerous occasions before €“ this time pretending to be a quadriplegic who's found god. Top notch farce.
