6. Hobitit (1993)

Fabulous Journey wasn't the only adaptation of Tolkien made for foreign TV audiences. In the early-nineties Finnish TV network Yle made Hobitit (The Hobbits), which, contrary to the title, is actually an adaptation of The Lord Of The Rings.

Following just the adventures of Frodo and Sam (that's a way to keep the budget down), it's a pretty epic undertaking, running for nine half hour episodes. Given its limited scope, it's not all that bad, although compared to what came next it's not really worth your time.
