Mile 22 Review: 3 Ups & 6 Downs

1. The Entertainingly Ridiculous Plot Twist

No spoilers here, but yes, Mile 22 has a plot twist, and it sure is a doozy alright. The big reveal is an amusing "gotcha!" moment that's actually genuinely surprising and ends the movie on the giddily entertaining note.

It helps that by this point viewers have likely given up on taking the movie seriously as a piece of action-drama, so you're less likely to start questioning the logic of the twist and just accept it on its own enjoyably silly merits.

It's probably not interesting enough to prompt you to rewatch the movie with this new context, but all the same, it finally sees the movie nailing the heightened tone it's been seeking throughout.

Though a sequel likely won't ever come to pass due to the film's pitiful box office take, this was actually mildly intriguing franchise-bait.
