Villain-Con is clearly a nefarious version of your stereotypical expo, with casuals and business types going around various stalls of people trying to build awareness of their wares. But there's one, world-famous convention that it has one distinct parallel with - San Diego Comic-Con. Not only do their logos put great focus on evocative eyes (OK, so that's more a coincidence than an Easter egg), but the main attraction - in the movie Scarlet Overkill's talk - takes place in "Hall H". In the real world, Hall H is where the major film studios (Marvel, DC and their other, non-superhero competition) hold their panels, revealing clips from upcoming movies and interviews with the stars. Basically the same thing.
