Mission Impossible: Fallout Review - 6 Ups & 3 Downs
2. Henry Cavill When He Talks
Because of the nature of his character - he's described at one point as "a hammer" by his boss - Henry Cavill's Agent Walker is more like a Bond henchman than a supporting agent like Benji.
It's when he starts talking that it all falls apart. Because the character clearly requires strong, calm intensity and his American accent requirement robs him of part of his spectrum of vocal emotion (which always happens with British actors going American for some reason) his line delivery is stunted and he lacks conviction for pretty much the entire first half.
He gets better when the story flips itself around at the mid-point, but it's also definitely - at least partly - down to him getting less lines.
