Mission Impossible: Fallout Review - 6 Ups & 3 Downs
Ups
6. It's Absolutely Relentless
If you're looking for a way to feel what (an acceptable level of) anxiety genuinely feels like, you should just watch the highest octane moments of Fallout. And they come thick and fast.
There's a slight slow-down in the middle when there's necessarily a little more exposition to reset characters and move the chess board around a little, but for the first act and the third (and even a lot of the second), there's barely any extended period of times when Ethan Hunt isn't sprinting or jumping off or onto something or punching someone or thing.
There's very little time to catch your breath and in an industry now more defined by supposedly cerebral action movies (or Tarantino-like talky ones), it's refreshing to get something so pulsatingly ACTIVE.
