Morbius Trailer Review: 5 Ups & 1 Down

1. THAT Cameo

Morbius Michael Keaton
Sony Pictures

After a trailer as dark and grim as Morbius', it's safe to say that nobody expected to see Michael freakin' Keaton pop up on our screens. More to the point, it's safe to say that nobody expected to see Michael freakin' Keaton playing Adrian Toomes a.k.a. Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming to pop up on our screens.

It might be a cameo in the trailer, but who knows how much he'll feature in the film? Is this an attempt to set up a Sinister Six film, or is it simply some much-appreciated fan-service? And on that note, does this confirm that Sony's Marvel Universe is indeed MCU canon (something we've all wondered since Spidey is supposed to walk between both universes), or is it simply a parallel dimension with Keaton's Vulture doppelganger?

Whatever the reason, the closing scene of the Morbius trailer has ensured that we're all talking about the film and, given that its somewhat outside of the box when it comes to its genre, that's most definitely a good thing. Also, have we mentioned that it's Michael freakin' Keaton?! What a way to close it!
