Mortal Kombat: 10 Actors The Reboot Needs

1. Harry Shum Jr. - Liu Kang

Given that Harry Shum Jr. is already a cast member on Glee, and Tancharoen previously directed the 3D Glee concert film - discouraging as that might seem for a guy about to direct a Mortal Kombat film - we expect that this one will be a snug fit. Plus, as the most compelling character on the show, Shum Jr. has demonstrated that he has the charisma to match, even exceed Robin Shou's previous portrayal of the character, and is certainly good looking enough to play the protagonist of the series. That he is primarily a dancer in Glee will put him in good stead here; as we all know, dancing and fighting are not all that dissimilar, and so with a strong fight choreographer Shum Jr. should be in good hands to play the lightning-fast dragon master. Are there any other obvious casting choices we missed? Is Statham as Kano a terrible idea? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
