2. Kathryn Winnick - Sonya Blade
Katheryn Winnick has already acted in an array of popular TV shows and films, and more importantly, has a 3rd degree Black Belt in Taekwondo, a 2nd degree Black Belt in Karate, and, get this, is also a licensed bodyguard. She appears to encompass every aspect of Sonya Blade; she physically resembles her, is freaking gorgeous, and is also convincing as an ass-kicker, given that she is, in actual fact, an ass-kicker. Also, it would be easy for the role to become a sleazy one, given her over-the-top physical dimensions in the video game, and Winnick would be a nice compromise between that and a more pared-down, even "realistic" approach. We also expect she might have fun chemistry with Jason Statham, given Sonya and Kano's long-standing feud, though they'll have to go some to match the brutal hilarity of the "Gimme a break!" fight scene from Anderson's Mortal Kombat film.
