Mortal Kombat: 10 Actors The Reboot Needs

8. Matt Mullins - Johnny Cage

Matt Mullins is the first of several entries into this list who has already played Johnny Cage, having starred in Tancharoen's short films as the obnoxious martial artist turned actor. But this wouldn't be a mere spot of loyalty casting; Mullins is a five time world champion, holds a 4th degree Black Belt, has invented his own martial arts style, and runs his own martial arts performance troupe. The guy has qualifications coming out of his ears, but more importantly, he can also act, too; he at once imbues the cocksure arrogance of the famed character and also his visceral intensity, making sure that Mullins could be, as Cage should be, that guy we love to hate. This is one instance of an actor not really resembling their video game counterpart all that much, but Mullins brings so much to the table otherwise, that, alongside some of the magic Hollywood make-up, he'll be a ripe fit for one of the series' most beloved characters.
