3. The Terrific Ensemble Cast

Say what you will about the film as a whole, but Aronofsky's barmy vision has attracted quite the ensemble cast, most prominently Javier Bardem as Lawrence's husband "Him", and Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer as an older couple who end up staying at their home.

There are two other prominent actors who also show up later on, though considering how little they've appeared in the movie's advertising, it's more fun for you to experience them for yourself.

Still, this collection of terrific actors ensures the movie mostly remains intriguing even though its more trying parts, with Michelle Pfeiffer's scary-sexy wife proving particularly entertaining.

Harris and Bardem, meanwhile, are as reliably terrific as ever, while the two other unnamed actors slot in well in their smaller roles.
