The Muppets: Ranking Every Movie From Worst To Best

2. The Muppet Movie

As you may have noticed, the Muppets boast an impressive list of acting talent in their celluloid collection. Tim Curry and Michael Caine stand out as some of the best, completely owning their respective roles, but you have to look back to the very beginning of their Hollywood career to uncover the most stellar and impressive cast they've assembled. From Charles Durning to Orson Welles, The Muppet Movie was a family film that oozed class. It was the road trip movie to end all road trip movies, with Kermit and the gang embarking on a cross-country adventure to Hollywood. The escapade not only sees them work with such decorated and talented actors, but also delivers the most laughs. Needless to say, this really allows Fozzie, Statler and Waldorf the space to shine. Their transition to the silver-screen was so successful which delivered critically and financially, making the original Muppet Movie one of the very best. The premise was simple but executed to perfection by Jim Henson and Frank Oz, including welcome nods to the Hollywood classics. Not only is this one of the greatest Muppet movies, but it's also one of the greatest family movies of the last forty years.

I love all things imaginative, from the page to the screen, and nurture a soft spot for Donald Sutherland and Daniel Bryan.
