Naomi Watts going opposite Clive Owen in The International

Naomi Watts has been hired to bring some life into Tom Tykwer's action thriller The International. She will be starring opposite the monotone and lifeless Clive Owen says The Hollywood Reporter.

The plot centers on an obsessive Interpol agent (Owen) who spearheads an investigation into one of the world's most high-profile and powerful banking institutions in an attempt to expose them for worldwide arms brokering, corruption and murder. Watts will play a Manhattan assistant district attorney who partners with the agent to take down the bank.
Tom Tykwer's last movie was the confused character based thriller Perfume: The Story of a Murderer but in the past he has shown he can do action thrillers to an exciting level with Run Lola Run. This could be good but Clive Owen rarely does anything for me other than to put me to sleep. The movie is expected to be the next film on both stars shooting schedules with production beginning very soon in Berlin.
