1. Here Comes the Flood
Damn-near guaranteed to be one of the year's biggest and most-watched Netflix Originals, Here Comes the Flood is a new heist film from City of God co-director Fernando Meirelles, starring Denzel Washington, Robert Pattinson, and Daisy Edgar-Jones.
The trio apparently play a bank guard, a master thief, and a teller respectively who get caught up in a "deadly game of cons and double-crosses." Sold.
Considering that Washington and Pattinson each have an all-timer heist film to their name already - Inside Man and Good Time - they've evidently got great taste in the genre, and it'll be a trip to see the pair go toe-to-toe with one another, not to ignore the ever-solid Daisy Edgar-Jones.
And then there's the rest of the ensemble, including the mighty likes of Danai Gurira, Sean Harris, Moisés Arias, and Justin Kirk.
Sure, it's fair to be slightly weary given that the script has been penned by ever-inconsistent X-Men scribe Simon Kinberg, but hopefully this'll be more X-Men: Days of Future Past than Dark Phoenix.
