New Batman Film: 5 Reasons We Don't Need A Reboot

1. Rian Johnson's Time Has Come

To anyone who wants to argue that Rian Johnson shouldn't helm The Nightwing Chronicles, please direct your attention to the director€™s previous body of work, paying particular attention to the modern Noir classic, Brick. With that piece of work alone, Johnson managed to tell a better detective story than some of the most hardened suspense directors, and further evidence can be found in his handling of the familial aspect of The Brothers Bloo€, as well as the action chops he€™s built after Looper. Furthermore, Looper itself has proven that Johnson (as well as Joseph Gordon Levitt) has found an audience. Anyone looking to lay the credit on Mr. Gordon-Levitt alone should look at the opening and subsequent gross for Premium Rush. While he is a genius of his own right, he hasn€™t gained the wide appeal and draw of someone like Christian Bale (not yet, anyhow.) The next step after finding an audience is doing something big to keep them, and signing a nice multi-picture deal with Warner Brothers would be a real plum way of keeping himself on the higher rung of the Hollywood game. His reign would not only be a fitting succession to Christopher Nolan€™s tenure as franchise head, but it would also afford him the opportunity to break into bigger, better things for not only himself, but also for the studio and his star. So what do you think Bat-fans? Is the time right to reboot Batman, or should Warner Bros continue the current arc? Share your thoughts below...
