5. Omnipresent Villainy
If Warner Bros. are planning to expand the DC movie universe ala Marvel Studios, theyre going to have to make some changes to the current properties. The Avengers worked so well because there was an extended Marvel universe buried in the iconography of each Marvel movie that came out over the past 5 years. When The Avengers finally assembled, it wasnt only feasible, it felt destined. One way to achieve that in the Batman reboot would be to flesh out Gotham Citys criminal demimonde. For example, lets say during Batmans investigation to find the Joker, he questions Arnold Wesker & Scarface, Victor Zsasz, Harley Quinn, has to face off against a defensive Poison Ivy, before finally reaching and defeating the Clown Prince of Crime. The Batcomputer could easily provide quick exposition and in all honesty, they get little more than that in the comic books themselves. Of course thats just an example. By acknowledging that all of these Villains exist at once in the same place, youre acknowledging that there is a larger world beyond the story. Then its just a case of seeing Superman show up somewhere to reference the larger DC universe, and your Justice League movie is practically set up for you. And obviously, the journey there would have been awesome.
