New Batman Movie: 10 Villains We Want to See in Batman 4

5. Hugo Strange

Hugo Strange is essentially driven mad by his own genius and his obsession with the Batman. In comic-book lore, he figures out Batman€™s identity as Bruce Wayne just through pure reasoning €“ one of the main factors in why he€™s so dangerous - and becomes obsessed with taking the mantle for himself. How it Could Work: Again, very easily. Strange knows the true identity of Bruce Wayne, so I can€™t help but think this would factor massively into the plot €“ but has a film ever really fully explored what would happen if he was exposed yet? Maybe now is the time. Who Could Play Him: If he hadn€™t been Bane, I€™d have said Tom Hardy (have you seen him in Bronson?). Failing that, I€™d go for an older, more distinguished actor like Bryan Cranston €“ he€™s almost Hugo Strange already in Breaking Bad. Likelihood: I€™d say very good. He was one of the lead antagonists in Arkham City and there were even initial rumours that Tom Hardy had been cast to play this character in The Dark Knight Rises, until the true villain was revealed of course. It€™s not a stretch to imagine he may have his cue-ball nut on an IMAX screen some time in the near future.
