20 Recent Horror Movies That NEED Sequels
10. The Blackwell Ghost 8
The Blackwell Ghost is an impressive low-budget found footage franchise which began in 2017 and has spawned seven (!) sequels to date, with the most recent entry being 2024's The Blackwell Ghost 8.
The films have earned themselves a cult fanbase largely due to the charismatic presence of filmmaker-star Turner Clay, who portrays a semi-fictionalised version of himself investigating various paranormal phenomena.
Despite the most recent film ending on something of a cliffhanger and Clay usually releasing a new entry every year, we're now close to three years without a new Blackwell Ghost - easily the longest gap yet.
With Clay generally keeping a low profile between sequels, there's not much indication of when - or indeed, if - The Blackwell Ghost 9 will come out, all while his loyal fanbase grows steadily impatient.
While the most recent films have proven more divisive with their drawn-out serial killer plot, Clay absolutely needs to pay it off rather than leave fans hanging.
