20 Recent Movies EVERYONE Knew Would Suck
18. In the Grey
Guy Ritchie truly is a one-man film industry unto himself, and while his prolific output in recent years has undeniably favoured quantity over quality, he has nevertheless put out a few solid movies lately - especially The Covenant and The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
But the writing was very much on the wall that his latest release, In the Grey, was in trouble.
For one, Ritchie started shooting the film way back in September 2023, yet distributor Lionsgate continually delayed its release, reportedly due to the busy schedules of leads Henry Cavill, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Eiza González delaying reshoots.
Said reshoots apparently never ended up happening, and by the end of 2025 Lionsgate decided to relinquish the American distribution rights entirely.
Ultimately In the Grey was sent out to die in May with minimal marketing while also not being screened for critics, and so few were surprised when it turned out to be one of the most blandly forgettable entries in Ritchie's entire filmography.
