Where to even begin with Sleepwalker - a new psychological thriller starring Hayden Panettiere as a grieving mother who finds herself haunted by disturbing visions.

The trailer alone made it aggressively apparent this was a dead-ordinary, almost parodically generic film sure to waste the talents of not just Panettiere but also Beverly D'Angelo, Justin Chatwin, and Mischa Barton.

Further compounding the basement-low expectations was the decision to quietly dump it in early January, all while being distributed by Brainstorm Media - a boutique outfit you've almost certainly never heard of.

And so, it was a mere forgone conclusion that Sleepwalker was widely panned by critics as a dull, cliche-riddled genre romp which many couldn't resist to call, well, a snooze-fest in its own right.

Being adapted from filmmaker Brandon Auman's own 2024 short as it is, Sleepwalker provides yet further proof that some shorts just aren't cut out for the feature-length treatment.
