New Suicide Squad Promo Highlights Puppet Master Amanda Waller
She is one mean lady.
The marketing for Suicide Squad is ramping up as we approach the film's release, and now we've got a new promo that shines that spotlight not on the titular squad, but the person assembling it.
Amanda Waller, played in the movie by Viola Davis, is the government official putting the team together, and while she may seem like the most ordinary of the lot, given this is a squad with all manner of madcap villains, this new look at her character highlights the fact that she might be the worst of them.
It showcases Waller in conversation with Rick Flag, basically showing that she's the boss, stating that all he needs to know is he works for her, that she "is the consequence" and that nobody ever believes the stories about her. As Deadshot puts it, that's "a mean lady."
The promo also includes footage of the other members, although nothing particularly revelatory, and the big takeaway is just how in control and downright scary Waller seems to be, with Davis looking a perfect fit for the role.
Thankfully it's not that long until be find out, with Suicide Squad released in cinemas on August 5.
