4. Dr. Chase Meridian - Batman Forever (1995)
Once Tim Burton was done with Batman, it was left up to Joel Schumacher to take the reigns, and Val Kilmer (somewhat ill-judged) found himself cast as Bruce Wayne. And who else but Nicole Kidman - a rising star at the time - was brought in to play another forgettable love interest? Nicole doesn't get much to work with here, given that her only purpose as Dr. Chase Meridian is to provide exposition and get captured by the villains. But her dialogue scenes with Kilmer are awkward and lacking chemistry, and overall she projects a somewhat lackluster sensibility. The film itself has dated horribly, of course, and looks like something of a cruel joke compared to that of Christopher Nolan's recent Batman efforts - among so many fine other performances,
Batman Forever is a small but significant stain on Kidman's otherwise excellent filmography.
