1. The Leaked Script
Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec's studio-mandated rewrite of the Ninja Turtles script - dated January 30th, 2012 - leaked online last year, and immediately caused TMNT fans to spew rabid outrage online. The script had the turtles come from another dimension entirely that is full of turtle warriors like themselves, Splinter is an alien, Shredder is actually a government agent called Colonel Schrader who can grow blades from his skin, Casey is an 18-year-old security guard and hockey player, while April is in a relationship with him, but they're on shaky ground because she is planning to move to New York due to a CBS internship. Oh, and Raphael is now the comic relief instead of Mikey, and Mikey has a relationship with a female turtle from their home planet. I know, I didn't think you could fit that much stupidity into one film either, but Appelbaum and Nemec's head-smackingly inane screenplay was enough for many Turtles fans to swear the film off entirely. Though this script ended up being nixed due to the negative reception, are we really going to expect a whole lot better next time? Sure, they have our criticism to take on board, but the people putting pen to paper are still clearly the
