Ninja Turtles: 10 Reasons It's Going To Suck

3. The Mythology Doesn't Need Expanding

It seems from the news so far that Michael Bay and co. are really keen to expand the Turtles mythology and make something far bigger of it, but what is the need? The source material already has plenty to work from, with the turtles not always getting along, the eternal feud between Splinter and Shredder and the turtles' interactions with human beings; what else could possibly need to be added? There's two types of filmmakers in this world; there's the Christopher Nolans, who work out an intelligent way to tell a new spin on a classic story, and then there's the Michael Bays of the world, who will senselessly trample over something that wasn't in need of a quick fix in the first place. Stick to what people know and love and you will have success. It's not like the last Turtles film was exactly Batman and Robin, you know?
