Once Upon A Time In Hollywood Review: 7 Ups & 3 Downs
1. Tarantino's Distracting Foot Fetishism
It's no secret that Tarantino has a foot fetish, as has been made abundantly clear by pretty much every movie he's ever made.
Hell, the director has even appeared to lean into this in his more recent films, seemingly totally aware that the world has cottoned on to his unsubtle turn-on.
And no judgments here. But in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the filmmaker puts his fetish on-screen to the point of distraction, as there are at least half a dozen individual sequences where women, namely Margaret Qualley, Margot Robbie and Dakota Fanning, are practically poking their feet through the camera lens.
It'd be comical if it didn't distract from the dialogue so much, and honestly, nobody really wants to think about Tarantino getting his rocks off while filming these scenes.
These issues aside, though, it's a damn fine movie, and here's everything Tarantino gets right...
