What If Goliath Had Never Retired?

While the main focus of Ant-Man and The Wasp is the search for Janet van Dyne, one often overlooked element was the casual introduction of Goliath as an old friend of Hank.

In the comics Goliath is a hero who can grow to incredible size, much like Ant-Man when he reverses his abilities, and while there were many who held the mantel, it was Bill Foster who actually died in the Civil War comics event.

So what if Goliath had never retired in the MCU? Well it would seem that he would probably be facing off against Ant-Man and The Wasp seeing as he was trying to help Ghost. Having to deal with Ghost and Goliath may of been too much for the pair and overwhelmed them, leading them to be unable to save Janet.

Unable to save Janet, this could start Hank down a dark path that could have further repercussions as he becomes more desperate to try and find Janet, perhaps even turning villianous. This potential episode could look far into the future to show us just how important the events of Ant-Man and The Wasp were for the wider MCU.
