6. Tenet Misses Out On Best Sound

Many were waiting to see whether or not Christopher Nolan's Tenet would receive a Best Sound nomination or not, given both the controversy surrounding its complex sound mix and the sound branch's tradition of nomination unconventional mixes.

Despite nominating Interstellar for both Sound Editing and Sound Mixing back in 2015, Tenet was rightly snubbed for a Best Sound nod this year, a seemingly just move given the legions of viewers left frustrated by the oft-incomprehensible dialogue and overly bombastic music.

If you're not hard-of-hearing but still need subtitles just to understand the basics of the plot, then somebody didn't do their job.
