Oscars: 10 Worst Films Ever Nominated

1. Norbit (Best Makeup)

norbit The decline of Eddie Murphy€™s movie career is a pretty sorry affair. A string of woeful films, including box office bomb The Adventures of Pluto Nash, Meet Dave and A Thousand Words have left Eddie something of a laughing stock when a new release is on the horizon. The nadir however, came in 2007, when Norbit was released. Once again Eddie plays multiple characters in a similar vain to that of The Nutty Professor series. While The Nutty Professor is of an average quality, particularly for a family film, Norbit is the lowest of the low. Commercially however, the film was rather successful, coming close to a total of $160 million at the box office. Strange in hindsight, but the films use of multiple characters played by Murphy may have drawn in those who loved The Nutty Professor series so much. I think of reflection I just find it a little funny knowing that The Academy viewed this and agreed that it was Oscar worthy, should any of The Big Mommas House series be nominated for similar reasons. It€™s laughable. For a comedy however, Norbit should make you laugh, that is its basic aim, but how many time did you laugh watching Norbit? I thought so.
