Oscars 2013: 10 Reasons Why Hollywood Loves Argo

1. Hollywood The Hero

argo film Most people want to portray a positive image of themselves to the world. The film industry is no different. Argo depicts the life-saving efforts of those in the film industry, in particular John Chambers, a make-up artist who helped the CIA in their efforts to rescue American Embassy workers during the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis. It€™s not often the film industry can play the role of super hero without donning a Batman or Superman costume, so this is a chance to pat themselves on the back and say job well done. This also comes amidst rising criticisms against the film industry so essentially, Argo provides a firewall for those in entertainment. By giving the film a Best Picture Oscar, the Academy is saying, €œthat we the film industry made a difference in history.€ That may be too tempting to pass up.
