Oscars 2013: 10 Reasons Why Hollywood Loves Argo

2. People Have Actually Seen It

Argo Fcuk Yourself Remember The Hurt Locker? No? Haven€™t even heard of it?! Well, AMPAS is tired of that! The Academy may actually honor a film that many people have seen €“ a turnaround from years of rewarding smaller indie films and even a silent black-and-white film. This may in turn drive up ratings and interest in the telecast. The Oscars have had fewer viewers in recent years and have used many tactics to lure them back to the show (ex: James Franco and Anne Hathaway hosting). Most of the strategies have been useless, but maybe they€™ve decided to nominate a film the public loves. The Dark Knight Rises? Nope. Avengers? Only if a cold day in hell happens. No, it€™s Argo €“ the only crowd pleaser with super heroes Hollywood actually likes, which is THEMSELVES!
