Oscars 2013: 10 Things The Academy Got Wrong

1. Anne Hathaway's Acceptance Speech

We all knew Anne Hathaway was going to win the Best Supporting Actress Oscar, but hasn't her campaign been so thoroughly irritating this year? The sheer desperation she clearly exuded on the circuit has made her seem disingenuous as win after win was accrued, reaching an apex with her cringe-inducing acceptance speech at last night's ceremony. She collects her award and says "It came true", a moment that couldn't have felt more rehearsed and false, and though it was a deserved win, Hathaway seemed to know it as well. In light of the far more humble acceptance speeches from her peers, she came off as pretentious and a little arrogant. Still, ever year has to have one, and we all knew from her antics on the circuit it would probably be her. What was your take on this year's Academy Award? Let us know in the comments below.
