Oscars 2013: 10 Things The Academy Got Wrong

9. Brave Wins Best Animated Film

Perhaps we shouldn't be too surprised that Pixar's Brave scooped the Best Animated Film going, given that Pixar films tend to be the de-facto flick that people who haven't seen any of the films will vote for, given the studio's near-assured stamp of quality. However, there's a general agreement that Brave was far from the best animated film of the year, and at least three of the other nominees - Wreck-It Ralph, Paranorman and Frankenweenie - were certainly better films than Pixar's decent if underwhelming ode to motherly love. There's also the prevailing feeling that given how the majority of AMPAS is comprised of 60-year-old men, that they probably couldn't find much to relate to in something like Wreck-It Ralph. More fool them.
