Oscars 2013: 10 Things They Got Wrong

9. Snub: John Hawkes For Best Actor

This was considered a lock for a nomination several months ago, but again, it's funny how times can change. John Hawkes' stellar performance in The Sessions did well on the precursor circuit but has fallen to the wayside somehow, while two vastly inferior performances from Denzel Washington (who is good, but undermined by the uneven material) and Bradley Cooper (again, good, but not Academy-worthy) were instead tipped for the gong. The only consolation here is that Hawkes wouldn't have won in a million years anyway, and neither will these guys; Daniel Day-Lewis is going to steamroll this category, and rightly so.
