Oscars 2013: 10 Things They Got Wrong

2. Snub: The Intouchables For Best Foreign Film

If there was any film that seemed like a lock for Best Foreign Film, it was The Intouchables, a heart-warming tale that became France's most-watched film in 2011 and has set countless box office records the world over. It was also popular with critics and audiences alike, with it being pegged as a far more likely winner of the Best Foreign Film Oscar than Amour, given how it's a crowd-pleaser rather than a depressing downer. Still, we were all gob-smacked when it didn't make the cut today, with Kon-Tiki likely being the film that stole the slot away, given the high acclaim that the other lesser-known foreign films War Witch and A Royal Affair have had throughout the last few months. I would have been more angry if Amour had been snubbed, but this is still a huge surprise, and one that many are not very pleased about (you need only check out Twitter to see that).
