4. Best Actress: Rachel Weisz, Deep Blue Sea
While the most recent film from Terence Davis may not be as exciting as its similarly named predecessor about bio-engineered sharks, Weisz' portrayal as the beautiful adulterer Hester Collyer manages to keep this movie afloat. As her relationship with Tom Hiddleston's Loki (I think in the film the call him Freddie Page, but we all know the real deal) progresses from a spark to a wildfire and then ashes, Weisz deftly plays the role of a woman in the throes of a nervous breakdown. This is not only the finest female performance of the year, but possibly the decade so far.
