Oscars 2013: Remembering The Most Famous Infamous Speeches Ever
2. Sally Field - Best Actress (Places In The Heart)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_8nAvU0T5Y If its in front of your bedroom mirror with your Dad's old bowling trophy or in the bathroom with that bottle of shampoo, everyone has given a fantasy Oscar speech alone at some point in their life. If that moment arrives, there is no doubt that the now classic words "You like me" may become a part of your speech. Thank Sally Field for that one. In 1985 Field won her 2nd Best Actress Oscar for her work in the depression era drama Places In The Heart, and came with it the most iconic and (mis)quoted speech in Oscar history. Field ends her emotional speech by pontificating on her spotty career, stating that while accepting her 2nd Oscar she has come to the conclusion that regardless of her work as The Flying Nun or how many movies she made with Burt Reynolds, people like her. The quote is often misguided when interpreted by others who usually add "You like me, you really like me", but Field only repeats what she said again. "You like me. Right now, you like me."
