Oscars 2014: 10 Wins That Would Make This Year's Oscars Worth Watching
9. Her Wins Original Song
This category has probably received the most publicity this year than it ever has. As you've probably heard this is because of the decision to rescind the nomination for "Alone, Yet Not Alone" - something that looked like an anomaly ever since it was announced as a possible contender. Thanks to that decision, every other nominee has received a boost and I would personally jump up with joy and pump my fist in the air if Karen O and Spike Jonze's "Moon Song" ends up beating its bland competition. If you've seen the film then chances are slim that this soulful song didn't creep into your heart. The big competitor here is the power of Bono and his U2 cohorts. Last time U2 was nominated for an Oscar, they lost out to Eminem which couldn't have been a great feeling. This time around, they're nominated for Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom which has the kind of political gusto to get the mega-band their first Oscar. Having said that, Karen O's chances with Moon Song shouldn't be scratched off because in a category where "It's Hard Out Here For A Pimp" can win, anything can happen.
