16. The Ice Fishing Story - American Hustle

This entry isn't one singular scene, but rather an endlessly amusing reoccurring joke throughout American Hustle. Rich is obsessed with nailing crooked politicians so much that he begins to ask his boss Stoddard - uproariously played by Louis CK - for absurd demands, like millions of dollars and expensive hotel suites, all as part of his grand hustling scheme. This prompts Stoddard to bring up a family ice fishing story centered on his brother, that when told in full, should relay a lesson to Rich regarding his overly ambitious and rebellious demands. Stoddard never actually gets to finish the story though, as Rich cuts him off constantly with know it all bravado, predicting the ending to the story. Naturally, Rich is always wrong meaning we never actually get to see the resolution of the story, but Louis CK did reveal the humorously bizarre ending on Jay Leno. http://youtu.be/52JwEQy00sA The comedic chemistry between Bradley Cooper and Louis CK couldn't have been any more on point, resulting in golden exchanges every time the two had a scene together.
