The Nominees: American Sniper, Boyhood, The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Imitation Game, Whiplash Who Will Win? Sandra Adair (Boyhood) Who Should Win? Sandra Adair (Boyhood) Front-runner Birdman was absent (and rightly so - half the job's done thanks to Lubezki's hard camerawork), leaving an actually rather solid set of nominees. Surely the award should go to be Boyhood, which blends footage shot over twelve years into a seamless narrative of consistent style. That is, after all, the whole point of the film.
