The Imitation Game was once a favourite to sweep the board, but after much worthier candidates appeared, Best Adapted Screenplay is going to be its only serious shot at an award. It really shouldn't win though. Whereas The Imitation Game tried to go broad and wound up skipping over the interesting elements of Alan Turing's life, The Theory Of Everything, the other movie about a 20th Century British genius, got it bang on, honing the focus and providing a brutally emotional look inside Stephen and Jane Hawking's relationship.
