Oscars 2016: 10 Potential Shocking Upsets

3. Inside Out Misses Out

Inside Out only has two chances to win €“ the Animated Feature Film category and Best Original Screenplay. Despite some predictions that Pixar€™s teenage-girl-mental-state deconstruction could be the first animated film to win Best Picture, it failed to get a nomination for the one. To some, that snub was disappointing in of itself. To these folk, it€™d add insult to injury €“ as well as awakening feelings of sadness, disgust and anger €“ if this visually imaginative and surprisingly poignant film fails to win anything whatsoever. Charlie Kaufman€™s unique-looking animated drama about a motivational speaker€™s existential crisis certainly has the potential to cause an upset in the animation category, while the scripts of Bridge Of Spies, Spotlight, Straight Outta Compton and Ex Machina are also likely to put up a fight. Prepare yourself for Bing Bong€™s death levels of distress if Inside Out gets nothing.
