This gaffe was pretty horrendous and quite inexcusable for such a big, high-profile event, not to mention cruel for the team who worked on La La Land and even started their acceptance speech.

But, as Summer Brennan points out, imagine if it'd been the other way around. A year after #OscarsSoWhite, a film by and about black people gets booted off stage for the predominantly white La La Land? Now that would've been really awkward.
