Oscars 2017: 8 Ups And 6 Downs

5. How Far I'll Go

In any other year, How Far I'll Go might've been taking home Oscar gold. The core song from Moana is a real earworm, penned by EGOT-in-waiting Lin-Manuel Miranda, although not quite capable of competing with either of La La Land's nominated tunes.

However, it did get the best musical performance of the night. After a great introduction from Dwayne Johnson - who referenced his own song from the film, and will surely host the Oscars sooner rather than later - Miranda performed an original rap prologue, before 16-year-old Auli'i Cravalho belted out the song. Despite her young age, high pressure, and getting hit in the face with a flag, she didn't miss a note, giving a truly brilliant performance.

Something tells me she'll go very far indeed... Sorry.
