Oscars 2017: 8 Ups And 6 Downs

4. Katherine G. Johnson Comes On Stage

Hidden Figures was one of the most heartwarming films of all the nominees, a timely story about African-American women and the power in unity. It's fitting, then, that one of the most heartwarming moments of the Oscars came from the film's trio of stars - Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer, and Janelle MonĂ¡e - brought out Katherine G. Johnson to the stage.

She's the real life figure central to the plot of the film, the one played by Henson in the movie. A person truly worthy of being celebrated, the now 98-years-old Johnson just uttered a thank you as she received a standing ovation, giving us one of the loveliest moments of the evening.
