Robert Pattinson sparked plenty of awards chatter when Good Time made the rounds at the prestigious Palme d' Or. Now, as a Best Actor nominee at the 2017 Gotham Awards, the Harry Potter alum is an undeniable contender.

In wake of the Twilight trilogy, Pattinson has plenty of pressure on his shoulders to prove that he's not just a genre star. The Academy voters should take notice of the man shaking off the heroic guise of Edward Cullen. Pattinson isn't afraid to step into rugged territory in Good Time. Controversial subject matter fills the story while Connie's character is the antithesis of a dreamy vampire or likeable Quidditch captain. If former nominees are any indication, heading into darker terrain will land Pattinson a shot at taking home the statuette.
