Another one of the categories where the bigger films do well, thanks to their larger budgets and simply more use of CGI than the movies you'll typically find in the Best Picture mix.
That should prove to be the case again this year, with a number of blockbusters in contention. The category has, however, thrown up some surprises in recent years, such as a win for Ex Machina two years ago and a nod for Kubo and the Two Strings last year. This year, those 'smaller' films could be Ojka ($50m budget) or The Shape of Water ($19.4m).
