Awards season is in full swing: the Golden Globes have been handed out, with more than a few surprises, the BAFTA and Guild Awards nominations revealed, and there have been backlashes to favourites followed by backlashes to the backlashes.

What all of this is building to, of course, is the 91st Academy Awards, which will take place at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre on February 24. This time there's a slight twist, though, as the Oscars doesn't actually have a host. After a lengthy search, Kevin Hart was handed the job and then Grampa Simpson gif'd his way back out of it after controversy surrounding jokes he'd made in the past. Hart's said he definitely isn't doing it, and it looks like the Oscars will go host-less this year.

Still, the show must go on, and for there to be awards handed out, there needs to be some nominations. The voting for nominations has now closed, with the nominees set to be revealed on January 22, but just who will be in contention when it comes to the glitziest night in Hollywood? There are some that feel cast in stone, but still scope for a few surprises too.
