Oscars 2020: 10 Ups & 6 Downs
5. Captain Marvel, Ripley & Wonder Woman Share The Stage
In one of the sweetest moments of the night, Brie Larson, Sigourney Weaver, and Gal Gadot took to the stage, where Larson and Gadot talked-up how Alien star Weaver paved the way for their success as screen heroines, before the three joked that they're opening up a Fight Club - and men are welcome.
But best of all, the trio introduced the first female conductor in the 92-year history of the Academy Awards, EĆmear Noone, who then conducted the orchestral introduction for the Best Original Song nominees.
As often as the Oscars pays hollow lip-service to progressive causes and basic equality alike, this felt completely genuine, and Noone absolutely killed it with her fierce conducting work.
